
In a press release on 10 March 22, Indian Railways withdraws restrictions on provision of linen, blankets and curtains inside trains with immediate effect. No more carrying those extra baggage of bedsheets and blankets.. and no more sunlight if you want your compartment dark. Thanks to the immediate decision taken as the Covid cases decline in India.
In view of Pandemic and Covid Protocol due to Covid-19, Standard Operating Protocol (SOP) for Movement of passengers by trains was issued which imposed the restriction on linen, blankets and curtains inside trains. Which is now been withdrawn with immediate effect.

However, netizens could not control themselves to raise questions too. Followed with many reply tweets seeking concessions for senior citizen back. People unhappy with the raised ticket prices and cancellations charge. Many want to know about the restorations of train stations.
Before March 2020, in the case of senior citizens, 50% discount was given to women passengers and 40 % to men passengers for traveling by railways in all classes. The minimum age limit for availing this relaxation by the Railways was 58 for elderly women and 60 years for men.
Indian Railways offers concessions to 53 categories including those for senior citizens, students, sportspersons, medical professionals etc. Some of the concessions stands withdrawn due to the Covid-19 pandemic as a move to discourage people from travelling. At present, students and people with some medical conditions are only eligible for concession.
