A grand Republic Day parade that takes place on the Rajpath- the king’s way every year is a celebration for every Indian. Thousands of people assemble at Rashtrapati Bhavan grounds and along the Rajpath to witness the parade that begins after the flag hoisting. Read all the highlights if you missed the cover live on television.

The parade included marching contingents, various tableaux and performances showcasing the different cultures of the country comprising military personnel and states tableaux, followed by President Ram Nath Kovind’s first flag hoisting as president. Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosts 10 leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations or ASEAN as guests of honour. 


President Ram Nath Kovind arrived at Rajpath where he was greeted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. President was escorted by 46 Bodyguards on Bay and Dark Bay coloured mounts.
President Ram Nath Kovind unfurled the tricolour to a 21-gun salute.

A women’s motorcycle team comprising personnel of the Border Security Force- BSF was one of the main attractions of Republic Day parade today.

All India Radio showcased its tableau during the Republic Day parade, depicting a historic event when Mahatma Gandhi made his maiden and only broadcast through AIR in the wake of post-Partition communal riots. Tableau Showed diverse population of India and signify the public broadcaster’s “integrating role” in it. The front portion of the trailer showcased farmers listening to radio while engrossed in agricultural operation, (besides) soldiers listening to popular programmes of AIR like ‘Jaimala’ from advance locations in frontier.
